The total number of teams participating in the Main Draw is 32 per gender. There is no preceding Qualification Tournament.
The competition will be played in a 32-team modified Pool-Play-format followed by a 24 teams Single Elimination format.
From the Preliminary Round the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranked teams from each pool will be advancing to the Single-Elimination-phase according to the 24 Team Single Elimination Playoffs exemplified in the CEV Beach Volleyball guidelines.
Main Draw is composed as follows:
- Minimum 29 teams directly qualified comprised of:
- Minimum 3 and maximum 6 host country teams
- Minimum 23 and maximum 26 foreign teams
Maximum 3 Wild Card teams. The National Federations may present their request form for Wild Cards to the CEV at the latest by the registration deadline day and time.
The allocation of Wild Cards will be circulated through the event’s Confirmed Lists.
In case less Wild Cards are awarded the Main Draw spot will be allocated to the next eligible team through the CEV Entry Ranking.
